Issue Position

I went to public school in Fresno, and my daughters go to school here, too.

As the son of immigrant farm workers and the first in my family to finish college, I understand the power of education. We need to reinvest in our children and our schools because they are the Valley's future.

As someone who has been a teacher, I know firsthand the importance of keeping resources in the classroom where they help our children the most.

As a Fresno School Board Trustee, I have made school safety a priority. We have put a police officers in every high school, and I've worked with local law enforcement to close down drug houses near schools.

I have worked to increase classroom funding, boost graduation rates, and expand sports programs that are so vital to many of our kids.

Working with community leaders, we have gotten great things done for our children. I'll do the same in the State Senate.
